This almost feels like it could be an accidental intersection with ellison, where you're both painting vivid word pictures of a dark theme, each on either side. But, I also like the 1950s radio play / noir style, too... I can almost hear the advertisement now — "Not your average bedtime story; not for the faint of heart... don't listen alone!" A proper homage to a bygone era. Good job with this.
